Frequently Asked Questions

Is it possible to extend a driveway?

This is a common question that we are asked quite often. This is normally asked if the homeowner needs space for an additional car or space to fit a larger vehicle such as a motorhome or a caravan.

It is possible to extend your driveway, however, there are a few things to consider, such as do you need planning permission? Will it still allow access to the front door or do you need a new drop kerb.

If you are still unsure whether you can extend your driveway then always speak to a professional who can provide a site survey to assess your needs.

How long will my new driveway last?

All new driveways installed by Staffordshire Driveways have a 15-year guarantee.

The lifespan can exceed our 15-year guarantee dependent on the material. For example, a resin driveway can last between 15 and 20 years and a Creteprint can last for decades.

Of course, the lifetime of a driveway will always depend on the installer. If you choose a reputable driveway fitter you can be sure that it will last the test of time.

How long once my driveway is finished do I need to wait to park my car?

You should wait at least 3 – 5 days before you park your car on your new drive. This gives the drive time to cure, preventing possible warping and damage to the ground.

Is black the only colour Tarmac available?

No. There is a wide range of coloured tarmac available to choose from such as white, orange, terracotta, a range of greys and greens and even blue.

What is an imprinted patterned driveway?

The imprinted patterned driveway is one of the newer techniques used on the market.

The process of this popular decorative alternative to block paving includes pouring a layer of new concrete onto a sub base.

The colours are then combined and after the release agent is added to prevent the concrete from sticking, the imprinting process begins.

The imprinting is done using specialist texture mats using the pattern of the customers choosing and once dried, is then sealed.

Do you offer a guarantee?

All of our driveways carry a 15 year guarantee.

How long will my new driveway take?

The actual installation of the driveway will take roughly 2 days. This does not include curing time which is dependent on the choice of. driveway.

You may also need to factor the weather into that time frame as this can affect the curing process and also the ability to conduct the installation.

You will be consulted throughout the whole process and time frames for each job completed by Staffordshire DRiveways will be made clear at the start of the  will be
